wins 'Standoff' Variety May 16,

Echo Lake
("Water") will produce indie thriller
"Standoff," written by Adam Alleca, who
makes his directorial debut.
Story revolves around a troubled war veteran who must pull
himself together to protect a 10-year-old girl who has witnessed a gruesome
murder.
Producers are Echo Lake's Douglas
Mankoff and Andrew Spaulding. Mike Marcus will
exec produce.
Alleca, who graduated
from college last year, has set up the script "Home" with Wes
Craven's production shingle, and "Beneath" with Michael De Luca's
company.
Echo Lake, launched in
1998, has helped produce and finance 16 films, including Michael Cuesta's "Twelve and Holding," which IFC
Films will release May 26.
Company is one of the producers on John Dahl's mob laffer "You Kill Me."
